The Tissot family has been making wine in the Jura for decades — Stéphane's father André started the domaine in 1962. Stéphane's first vintage was in 1989, at the tender age of 19, and almost immediately thereafter he decided to eschew commercial yeasts and pursue organic farming (although the domaine has been certified biodynamic since 2004). Chez Tissot, the goal is to illustrate the region's unique terroir, and to that end, they vinify as many as 28 different cuvées, determined parcel by parcel according to the soil. The small production wines are marked by elegance and freshness, in styles that range from sparkling and still to the signature Vin Jaune of the region.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and compelling, this Cremant is made method champenois with hints of dried ginger, hazelnuts, quince, and poached apples.

The forthcoming release of the NV Crémant du Jura Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs BBF (2018-2019) was disgorged in January 2024 and is to be sold at the end of the year. It's Chardonnay with one year in barrel, 80% of the wine from 2019 and 20% from 2018. This is still refermented with Champagne yeast, and it has some apple character, notions of fine lees and a smoky profile. This will be the last vintage with Champagne yeasts; the next one will be refermented with Tissot's own yeasts. This is a fairly typical Chardonnay, a little more Champagne than Jura, and it’s balanced and fresh and can age nicely. Tissot uncorked a bottle of the first BBF they made with a blend of wines from 2005 and 2006 that had been on the lees for seven years and was disgorged the week before we tasted it. That is the real McCoy! It's what he's looking for, something completely different from the young wines. It had lots of complexity, and it was yeasty and smoky, with a hint of mushrooms. It was salty and tasty and had very small bubbles. His sparkling wines can age!

"The current release of the pure Chardonnay sparkling NV Crémant du Jura Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs BBF was produced with a blend of wines from 2014 (75%) and 2015 (25%), partly aged in barrel for one year and then put in bottle in January 2016 and disgorged four years later. It has a golden color and an intense nose with plenty of spices and yeasts, toasty from both the barrel and the autolysis of the lees, and notes of baked apples and a lactic touch. The palate is quite sharp but has nice structure and acidity, and there are plenty of frothy bubbles that give it a creamy texture. This time, I feel more of the effect of the oak aging." -Robert Parker

The NV Cremant du Jura BBF Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs smells like a serious Champagne. It is a blend of 2008 and 2009; the 2008 matured for 14 months in barrique and the 2009 only in tank. This is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wine was kept for some five years on the lees before disgorgement. It has a smoky character, lots of notes of baked bread and brioche, as well as creamy texture and great length. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to follow up on these non-vintage wines, but this bottle can surely age. (LG), 10/2015)

Plump at the core, with bracing cut along the edges, this delivers apple, ginger, walnut and brioche notes, with a broad mousse on the finish. Shows good range and length. (JM, 12/2013)

Bright yellow. Herbal pear and peach scents are complicated by vanilla and chamomile. Pure and dense in the mouth, offering toasty citrus and orchard fruit flavors brightened by juicy acidity and a lively mineral vein. BBF stands for Blanc de Blanc en Fût, which means a barrel-aged Chardonnay, in this case from the 2009 and 2008 vintages. From a mix of clay and limestone soils, it lingers with surprising tenacity. We will need pictures and proof of damage so that we can resolve your claim. Damaged claims will not be accepted without proof. We will replace the wine or issue a credit. The choice is yours!

Deliveries that contain alcohol REQUIRE AN ADULT SIGNATURE. You must be 21 or older to purchase and accept said deliveries.

We cannot ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.

Shipping fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

There is an additional charge to re-route orders already in transit.

Some items are removed from original packaging, and placed in protective shipping containers to ensure safe delivery.

While most orders are shipped the day they are placed. The demand for limited supplies will occasionally deplete our stock of a paticular product, in this case it will generally take an additional 1 - 2 business days to receive the product and fufill the order.

Although it is rare, if there was a packing error, we would like to resolve it for you! In the event that we shipped an incorrect item, we may ask you to hold on to those items and the exsisting packaging so that we can arrange for a return pick up. If you find that items are missing from your order, we are happy to assist you in reshipping the missing items or processing a credit for the missing item/items. We will provide a return label for incorrect items and credit will be processd upon the return of the item to the warehouse. Reshipment of the correct items will be at no extra charge.

Occasionally a chosen vintage of a wine may sell out or be replaced by a new release after your order is placed. Bottles of wine that are under $20, will not hold up an order and we will simply automatically substitute the wine with the comparable vintage. Please be assured that we will only substitute with a vintage for the same wine. Wine that is valued more than $20 per bottle, we will attempt to contact the customer. After two attempts, the available vintage will be automatically shipped out. (The return policy of $15 return shipping costs, and 15% restocking fee will be enforced.)

Yiannis Wine will not be held liable for damages to orders due to weather conditions during shipping. Potential exposure to extreme heat or cold may damage items during shipping. As we can not be held responsible for products damaged due to weather, we suggest you choose FedEx Express to ship your items and/or add ice packs to your order (during extreme heat) to help prevent damages. We can also place your orders on weather hold until weather conditions improve. Wine is usually fine if it is exposed to some heat (as that is the way wine is made.....Heated so the yeast is activated). If your wine is warm, please place them in a cool, dark room so the wine can "settle."

Most returns will be accepted, but ALL bottles must be returned to get credit. A half bottle or empty bottle of something that did not taste GOOD is fine to return, but the customer will not receive full credit if the bottle is not included.

Sometimes an order is returned to our warehouse after several delivery attempts at the address provided by the customer. We are happy to reship the order however, reshipment fees will apply. Please contact us and we will assist you with the reshipment arrangements.

We are happy to assist with any returns for items purchased that you no longer want or need. Please let us know and we will arrange for the return and issue a credit or refund for your returned items, less the return shipping and handling charges.
