Since the 17th century, there have been ten successive generations of owners, each of them leaving their own particular mark on the history of Château Lascombes. Along the way, there have been many colourful characters, and all of them have sought to attain the highest levels of excellence in the wines of Château Lascombes.
Nose : The nose is fruity, elegant and offers a little richness. We can find aromas of fleshy blackberry and more slightly aromas of fleshy blackcurrant with light hints of raspberry and a delicate hint of grey pepper.
Palate : The entry on the palate is inviting and dense. A lot of finesse on the palate. The wine is creamy and has dense tanins with fine grains that give a sweet aspect at the end of the sipping. The finish is long and fruity.
93-96 points Wine Spectator
Dark and winey, with steeped currant and plum fruit forming the core, inlaid with a licorice root note and backed by a suave mesquite hint on the finish. Fine-grained. A serious wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. (JM, Web Only-2019)
94-95 points James Suckling
This is a dense and very structured young red with currant and citrus character, such as burnt orange. Full-bodied with chewy yet polished tannins and a long and flavorful finish.

This is a smoky, powerful wine that shows plenty of signs of wood aging. However, it is restrained by the fine berry fruit flavors and the intensity of the tannins. It will age well. (RV)

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Lascombes is deep garnet-purple in color and a little reduced to begin, offering tar and scorched earth notions over an emerging core of baked blackcurrants, plum preserves and charcuterie plus hints of bay leaves and underbrush. Full, richly fruited and laden with ripe black fruits and earthy suggestions, it has a solid foundation of firm, grainy tannins and finishes long and savory. (LPB)

The 2018 Château Lascombes showed nicely, possessing plenty of richness as well as a light, elegant, weightless profile. Classy notes of black and blue fruits, smoked earth, and ample minerality all give way to a medium to full-bodied Margaux that’s not a heavyweight yet shines for its balance and purity. It’s going to fill out nicely with 3-5 years of cellaring.

The 2018 Lascombes is quite attractive in this vintage. Black cherry, plum, cloves, leather, tobacco and licorice all run through a succulent, supple Margaux that will drink well with minimal cellaring. This is an especially modern, fruit-forward style. Tasted two times. (AG)

For me, Lascombes always manages to get away with its exuberance and powerful push because it combines this with floral aromatics and a sense of unashamed enjoyment. It has more of an oak finesse than some, as you may expect, and it's not quite as juicy as the 2015 and 2016 but it settles into the glass and shows layers of complexity, a big punch of fruit and clear ambition. Good yields of 45hl/ha. 40% new oak. (JA)

K&L Notes
90-92 points Neal Martin in Vinous: "The 2018 Lascombes has a ripe bouquet (as usual), though not too over-the-top given the growing season. It does miss the delineation and finesse of other Margaux crus, however. The palate is medium-bodied with sharp tannins and good acidity, but the fruit feels smudged and slightly baked toward the finish. Not bad by a long shot, but I wish it showed more finesse and nuance." (11/2019)

With some of these states, for example Alabama, we are able to ship to an ABC store nearest to you.
It is rare to have a shipment damaged during shipping, however, in the event you do receive a damaged delivery, please let us know. We will need pictures and proof of damage so that we can resolve your claim. Damaged claims will not be accepted without proof. We will replace the wine or issue a credit. The choice is yours!

We cannot ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.
Shipping fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
There is an additional charge to re-route orders already in transit.
Some items are removed from original packaging, and placed in protective shipping containers to ensure safe delivery.
While most orders are shipped the day they are placed. The demand for limited supplies will occasionally deplete our stock of a paticular product, in this case it will generally take an additional 1 - 2 business days to receive the product and fufill the order.
Although it is rare, if there was a packing error, we would like to resolve it for you! In the event that we shipped an incorrect item, we may ask you to hold on to those items and the exsisting packaging so that we can arrange for a return pick up. If you find that items are missing from your order, we are happy to assist you in reshipping the missing items or processing a credit for the missing item/items. We will provide a return label for incorrect items and credit will be processd upon the return of the item to the warehouse. Reshipment of the correct items will be at no extra charge.
Occasionally a chosen vintage of a wine may sell out or be replaced by a new release after your order is placed. Bottles of wine that are under $20, will not hold up an order and we will simply automatically substitute the wine with the comparable vintage. Please be assured that we will only substitute with a vintage for the same wine. Wine that is valued more than $20 per bottle, we will attempt to contact the customer. After two attempts, the available vintage will be automatically shipped out. (The return policy of $15 return shipping costs, and 15% restocking fee will be enforced.)
Yiannis Wine will not be held liable for damages to orders due to weather conditions during shipping. Potential exposure to extreme heat or cold may damage items during shipping. As we can not be held responsible for products damaged due to weather, we suggest you choose FedEx Express to ship your items and/or add ice packs to your order (during extreme heat) to help prevent damages. We can also place your orders on weather hold until weather conditions improve. Wine is usually fine if it is exposed to some heat (as that is the way wine is made.....Heated so the yeast is activated). If your wine is warm, please place them in a cool, dark room so the wine can "settle."
Most returns will be accepted, but ALL bottles must be returned to get credit. A half bottle or empty bottle of something that did not taste GOOD is fine to return, but the customer will not receive full credit if the bottle is not included.
Sometimes an order is returned to our warehouse after several delivery attempts at the address provided by the customer. We are happy to reship the order however, reshipment fees will apply. Please contact us and we will assist you with the reshipment arrangements.
We are happy to assist with any returns for items purchased that you no longer want or need. Please let us know and we will arrange for the return and issue a credit or refund for your returned items, less the return shipping and handling charges.
