Winemaker Tasting Notes
Aromas of black cherries and chapparal. On the palate, penetrating raspberry fruit, black olive, firm acidity, supple tannins, and a long finish. JO (1/25)
Wine.com: 96 Points “I first fell in love with the 1972 Ridge Geyserville when I tasted it in the mid-1970s. The 2023 is better than it has ever been. This wine reveals aromas and flavors of dried rocks, earth, oak, and blackberries. Enjoy it with Moroccan spiced lamb. The dish’s cinnamon, cumin, coriander, and paprika will provide the perfect pairing. (Best Served: 2025-2038)” -Wilfred Wong (March 2025)
Zinfandel Chronicles: 96 Points “Bright crimson in color. Beautiful nose of red fruits, baking spices, anise and pepper. Medium body with mouthwatering acidity and impeccable balance. Packed with juicy, intense fruits. Raspberry, cherry, tobacco leaves and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. This wine has the stuffing to drink well for the next decade. Blockbuster Geyserville.” -Tom Lee (March 2025)
OwenBargreen.com: 96 Points “The 2023 ‘Geyserville’ is a marvelous, silky blend of mainly Zinfandel (70%) with 18% Carignane, 9% Petite Sirah and a touch of Alicante Boushet. Very dark in the glass, this delivers beautiful violet rose petals alongside mocha, tar, Cuban cigar and notes of garrigue with loganberry compote. The palate is fresh and refined, with an elegant mid-palate mouthfeel and light dusting of salinity. Well-structured and weighted, offering plenty of depth and flavor density, this is a marvelous effort that has yet to fully hit its stride —- but the incredible potential is there. The combination of weight and tension suggests this will be very long-lived. Give this another year in the cellar before uncorking. Drink 2026-2045” -Owen Bargreen (March 2025)
JebDunnuck.com: 95 Points “A perennial standout for the winery that is produced for wider distribution, the 2023 Zinfandel Geyserville is a blend of 70% Zinfandel, 18% Carignane, 9% Petite Sirah and 3% Alicante, the 2023 a highly ageable vintage with great acidity. That freshness helps to define the wine’s juicy core of well-mannered, supple tannins and oak, the wine aged entirely in 100% air-dried American oak, 15% of it new. It truly offers the perfect balance of dark fruit and freshness, within a full-bodied richness and structure still built for aging, as with all Ridge wines. Enjoy now through 2033.” -Virginie Boone (April 2025)
Wine Specator: 94 Points “Robust and simmering with intensity, this red serves up dark blackberry and cherry flavors laced with black pepper, licorice, cardamom and other dark spices. The finish is firm yet integrated. Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet. Best from 2026 through 2035.” -Tim Fish (April 2025)
Vinography.com “Dark garnet in the glass with purple highlights, this wine smells of blackberries, blueberries, licorice, and cola. In the mouth, juicy blackberry and blueberry flavors are shot through with dried herbs, licorice root, and dried flowers. Fantastic acidity makes the mouth water, and a hint of sweet coconut reveals the presence of American oak. Faint, almost fluffy tannins coat the mouth but don’t exert much pressure on the palate. A very young wine yet, but one that will continue to blossom for the next 20 years. Outstanding. A field blend of 70% Zinfandel, 18% Carignane, 9% Petite Sirah, and 3% Alicante Bouschet. 14.6% alcohol. Score: Around 9.5.” -Alder Yarrow (April 2025)

Some items are removed from original packaging, and placed in protective shipping containers to ensure safe delivery.
While most orders are shipped the day they are placed. The demand for limited supplies will occasionally deplete our stock of a paticular product, in this case it will generally take an additional 1 - 2 business days to receive the product and fufill the order.

In the event that we shipped an incorrect item, we may ask you to hold on to those items and the exsisting packaging so that we can arrange for a return pick up. Please be assured that we will only substitute with a vintage for the same wine. Wine that is valued more than $20 per bottle, we will attempt to contact the customer. After two attempts, the available vintage will be automatically shipped out. (The return policy of $15 return shipping costs, and 15% restocking fee will be enforced.)

As we can not be held responsible for products damaged due to weather, we suggest you choose FedEx Express to ship your items and/or add ice packs to your order (during extreme heat) to help prevent damages. We can also place your orders on weather hold until weather conditions improve. Wine is usually fine if it is exposed to some heat (as that is the way wine is made.....Heated so the yeast is activated). If your wine is warm, please place them in a cool, dark room so the wine can "settle."
Most returns will be accepted, but ALL bottles must be returned to get credit. A half bottle or empty bottle of something that did not taste GOOD is fine to return, but the customer will not receive full credit if the bottle is not included.
